Who we are

Youboo (youboo.ie) is run by Youboo. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us about your data at hello@youboo.ie.

What we collect and why

• Orders: your name, delivery address, email, phone number and what you bought. We need these to take your order, deliver it, handle returns and keep accounts (legal basis: performing our contract with you, and our legal obligations).
• Payment: card or wallet details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout and go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Messages: what you send us by email, so we can answer you (legal basis: our legitimate interest in helping customers).
• Your basket: kept in your own browser's storage so it's there when you come back. It never reaches our servers until you check out.

We don't use analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't sell your data. If we start an email newsletter, we will only send it to people who sign up, and every email will have an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

• Stripe (payments, Ireland and USA), which also sends your receipt.
• Our suppliers, who pack and ship your order directly to you: Matterhorn (Poland) for most pieces, and CJ Dropshipping (China) for pieces marked Value. They receive your name, delivery address and phone number, only to deliver the order.
• Delivery companies chosen by the supplier, to bring the parcel to you.
• Vercel (website hosting) and our email provider, which process data on our behalf.
• Google Fonts: the site's fonts load from Google, which sees your IP address when they load.

Where data goes outside the European Economic Area (Stripe in the USA, CJ Dropshipping in China), it is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept for six years, as Irish tax law requires. Emails are kept for up to two years after we last hear from you, unless they relate to an order.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, object to or limit how we use it, and take it elsewhere. Email hello@youboo.ie and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

Cookies

Shoppers get no tracking cookies. The basket uses your browser's storage, which is strictly necessary for the shop to work and needs no consent. Staff pages use one login cookie.
